Partnership with our families, Lecrae, producers, our band, record label, and most importantly partnership with our supporters . . . Thanks to God for each of you. These awards belong to us all!”
The announcement came to the Smallbone brothers in the midst of a busy week that included a live-concert taping for the critically-acclaimed PBS series, Front and Center, a live appearance on NBC’s The Today Show, and three sold-out arena concerts, one of which took place in the Georgia Dome, playing to a crowd of 30,000.
Alive agent Andrea Heinecke, who represents the Smallbones in their upcoming book with Thomas Nelson Publishers, said, “I’m thrilled for Luke, Joel and their families. For it, along with the single, “Messengers,” to receive such high honors testifies to the authentic, soul-stirring music the Smallbone brothers are known for.” Heinecke was referring to the life-threatening illness which struck Luke Smallbone in 2012 and sidelined him for a large portion of 2013.—DC
